Your room and flat
Our de Havilland campus houses one room type – the single ensuite bedroom. This room type costs £190.19 per week, and is available in a 42-week contract, in line with the academic calendar. The best part is all bills are included, so you don’t have to worry about costs changing, especially with the rising cost of living.
In your bedroom, you will have:
- single bed with underneath storage
- desk with drawers, bookcase and desk lamp
- desk chair
- pin board
- wardrobe
- fast Wi-Fi
- TV aerial socket
- mini-fridge
- en-suite with shower, toilet and sink.
Each flat typically has 12 rooms, meaning that you’ll share a kitchen with about 11 others. However, each kitchen has dedicated cupboard space for each flatmate, as well as 2 freezers, two microwaves, two kettles, two 4-burner cookers and two ovens. Essentially, there’s more than enough amenities to comfortably go around!
If you’re pursuing a postgraduate degree, you have the option to live in an exclusive postgraduate block – an accommodation offering unique to our de Havilland campus!
What’s close by?
In addition to having a comfortable flat, you will have 24/7 support from our dedicated student support officers, residential assistants and the security team. Living on campus also means that you will have easy access to a range of facilities that support your academic career. Your accommodation will only be a five-minute walk away from your lecture theatres, specialist teaching facilities and the 24/7 LRC.
Outside of studying, you can relax in the modern common room or Café Ambition, a student favourite for great coffee and music. Hertfordshire Sports Village is at the heart of the campus and contains to a climbing wall, swimming pool, squash courts, a gym and sports pitches. You’ll also be close to the Weston Auditorium (a film and live performance venue) and will have access to student services such as Hertfordshire Students’ Union, student shop, study abroad office and our multi-faith space. This means you’ll never be fair from a dip in the pool, lectures or places to catch up with friends.
Off campus, you’ll find a range of shops within easy reach. The Galleria is just a 7-minute walk from the campus and houses popular spots including Nando’s, Wagamama’s, TK Maxx and Odeon, amongst others. A student favourite, Wetherspoons is only a short walk away, and is the perfect place to get together with friends. For all your grocery needs, there is an Aldi and an ASDA within Hatfield, each less than a 20-minute walk away from de Havilland campus.
